Oil on Panel
The Portrait of Madame Bophry is one of my earliest pieces in what I call my “Picasso Theif” series. The series is an attempt to take my favorite elements from Picasso’s work and try to take the style to another place so as to not be completely redundant of what has already been done. Hopefully these works are both fresh yet familiar. After all it is Picasso himself who said, “Good artist’s copy, Great artist’s steal.” Madame Bophry has no real existence, its a name I entirely invented because I wanted a name that sounded very Posh and proper.
